In 1984, he founded Maloof Racing Engines in San Gabriel, CA.  Sammy's desire for street racing now turned to the track where he and his daughters continue to race now as a family.

Maloof Racing Engines quickly earned a reputation for producing top-quality engines for various applications, including road racing, drag racing, oval track racing, street performance, marine, and setting a world record in the land speed C pro class. Operating out of a 13,000 two story-square-foot race car shop, Sammy and his family handle everything from building high performance engines to custom exhaust tailored to each vehicle's needs. Hannah, Kaitlyn and Meghan love working alongside their father on the customers cars and engines paying attention to detail and excellence as Sammy continues to teach and pass down his working knowledge to them. He began teaching them at the age of 9 and continues to help them strengthen these skills.
